The traditional unicorn family crest and its story:

The animal that never existed. According to an ancient legend a unicorn detoxicated the river Mara in the promised land every morning by dipping its horn into the water. This wunderful animal would be the perfect problem solver for environmentalists, but for 150 years it is proven, that unicorns never existed on planet earth. Nevertheless the horns of this mystic creature were traded at incredibly high prices - especially in Medieval times. The pulverized horn was said to have mystic strength and render even the strongest poison harmless. Illustrations from the 16th century on show this legendary creature mostly horse shaped, with a left-wound horn on its forehead. In fact it is a tooth of the narwhales upper jaw. Nowadays the unicorn still appears in the heraldry, on pharmarcy and inn sings - frozen in the jump with the narwhale's tooth on its forehead. In the British crest it symbolizes Scotland.

Since1506 it stands for the tradition of the Lürzer family.
